Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
One Campus ("we", "us", or "the app") is a campus social platform for college and high school students to connect through clubs, events, and campus life. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using One Campus, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Google or create an account.
- Profile information — details you choose to add, such as your major, campus, interests, and class schedule.
- Content you create — posts, photos, comments, direct messages, clubs, and events you submit.
- Job applications — if you apply to a campus job, the résumé file (PDF) and note you attach to your application.
- Connections — the friends you add and the clubs and events you join.
- Points & activity — the points you earn in the app (for joining clubs, RSVPing, posting, and similar actions), which power your badges and the weekly campus leaderboard.
- Location — if you allow it, your precise location (GPS) is used while you use the map to show your spot on campus and give walking directions. You can disable this at any time in your device settings or in the app; the map works without it.
- Device, notification & usage data — a push-notification token so we can deliver alerts you opt into, plus basic usage statistics (such as how often you open the app and how many posts or messages you've sent) used to run and improve the app.
2. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account and profile.
- To show you relevant clubs, events, friends, and campus activity.
- To deliver direct messages and notifications you choose to receive.
- To keep the community safe — reviewing reported content and enforcing our rules.
- To maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the app.
3. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only in these ways:
- With other users — your name, profile details, posts, weekly leaderboard points, and (if you set one) your class availability are visible to other students so you can connect. You can hide yourself from the leaderboard in Settings → Show on Leaderboard. Direct messages are visible only to you and the person you're messaging.
- With employers you apply to — when you apply to a campus job, your résumé, name, major, and note are shared only with the person who posted that job.
- With service providers that power the app: Google Firebase (sign-in, database, hosting of your account data), Cloudinary (photo & résumé storage), Expo (push-notification delivery), and Google Maps (walking directions — Google receives the start and end points of routes you request). These providers process data only to provide their service to us.
- For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Advertising
One Campus shows sponsored posts from local and student-relevant businesses in the social feed. Ads are selected based only on which campus you're browsing — never on your personal information, messages, or browsing history. We count ad views and taps in aggregate to bill advertisers; these counts are not tied to your identity. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and Premium subscribers see no ads at all.
5. Your choices & rights
- Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app. This removes your profile, posts, and account data. Comments and messages you previously sent in shared conversations may remain visible to the people you shared them with; contact us if you'd like those removed too.
- Block & report — you can block other users and report posts or messages that break our rules.
- Notifications — you control which notifications you receive in Settings, and can turn off location sharing whenever you like.
- Access & corrections — you can view and edit your profile information in the app, or contact us using the details below.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, posts, and account data. Some information may remain in backups for a limited time before being overwritten.
7. Security
We use reputable providers (Google Firebase and Cloudinary) and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
8. Children's privacy
One Campus is intended for students 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app.
